Factory Reset on Samsung Displays
Before you start
This guide is intended for experienced users who are familiar with Samsung professional displays and have authorization to perform a factory reset. A factory reset restores the display to default settings and may remove existing configurations (including settings applied by another digital signage solution). Proceed carefully and only if you are confident in the steps below.
When would you use this?
Most commonly, a factory reset is helpful when you are migrating a screen from another digital signage platform to ScreenManager and the display has leftover configuration that prevents a clean setup (for example: locked menus, unusual network/app settings, or signage-related settings that don’t match your intended deployment).
Steps
- Turn the display on.
- Switch the input source to HDMI or DisplayPort.
- Turn the display off and wait until the red IR indicator (standby light) turns on.
- Using the IR remote control, press the following sequence:
MUTE → 1 → 8 → 2 → POWER (ON) - The display will boot into the Factory / Service Menu.
- Use the arrow keys on the remote to navigate to Option, then confirm.
- Select Factory Reset.
- The display will reboot and return to default settings.
After the reset
Once the display restarts, you can continue with your ScreenManager onboarding (network setup, display configuration, and player provisioning) as if the screen were freshly deployed.
